National Poetry Month 2015: Janice Tokar,




because’d by zero


she is               divided

that is to say                            not whole
                                                               
or rather           full       of         holes

           
sort  of  like                 swiss
            but without
the #sharpflavour
and                  precise                         cuts

or
                                                           
maybe              more

d          I           s           s           o          l           v          I           n          g

than / divided

a
melting
bowl of
neopolitan
(backspace)     indecision




Janice Tokar’s first chapbook, Arrhythmia, was published by above/ground press in April, 2014. An earlier manuscript of  Arrhythmia placed second in the 2012 Tree Press Chapbook Contest. 

Her poetry has appeared in Arc Poetry Magazine, the Bywords Quarterly Journal, The Peter F. Yacht Club, ottawater and Experiment-O. 

Originally from Manitoba, Janice resides and works in Ottawa.
