National Poetry Month : rob mclennan,

Four poems for National Poetry Month

1.

Beyond the confines of season,
landscaped. The cruelest month. An email

I might send myself.

2.

To search a problem. Nothing comes
from nothing. Thaw. An application

of sun, and prophets,

revealing wind. The lawn.

3.

The air outside is ambient,
almost. The what of something. That pure

stirring, it might finish me.

4.

A lyric, a fragrance, a
season of evaporation.

Seasons counter,
change. Adapt. A full pink moon.

rob mclennan’s most recent poetry titles include A halt, which is empty (Mansfield Press, 2019) and Household items (Salmon Poetry, 2019). Over the past few weeks, a new chapbook, Somewhere in-between / smoke, appeared with above/ground press, as well as a wee pamphlet with Penteract Press.
