Melanie Dennis Unrau is a Banting Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Regina. A former editor at The Goose journal and Geez magazine, Melanie has published a poetry collection, chapbooks, an edited issue of Canadian Literature on “Poetics and Extraction,” and an edited issue of G U E S T: a journal of guest editors on “Petropoetics.” Her literary study of oil-worker poetry in Canada, The Rough Poets: Reading Oil-Worker Poetry, is forthcoming with McGill-Queen’s University Press in 2024. New and current projects include the “Goose” poetry project and a planned anthology of climate-related work poetry edited with Kelly Shepherd and published by Fernwood. “My Lullaby” uses found text and images from a poem with the same title in S.C. Ells’s Northland Trails (1956).
